First I'm going to do the
complaining cause it's what I do best. They didn't let us IN until 7:30 (tickets
said 6:30) and the show didn't start until 9:30 (said 8:30) Meaanwhile 5,000
people are standing smooshed together on hard pavement after having spent hours
in line (we got in line at 3:30 and were about 40 feet from the stage) Hoku came
on and played entirely too long and they had to fix a light for a good 20
minutes. After that they took an hour to set up for 98° and I was ready to curl
up on the pavement and fall asleep. But, when they came on at 11:30 I was
suddenly awake.
They started out with 2 new songs, I don't know the name of the first one, but
the second one was Stay the Night. They danced their you know what's off for the
first one, well, Jeff tried (seriously, it was hilarious to watch him) They went
into "I Do", then "Invisible Man" unplugged. After that they
did "Dizzy" - which I LOVE. Drew has lead for the first half and it's
HOT. Nick also raps which is a little funny, but the song is AWESOME. They did
"Hardest Thing" after that, with new choreography (did I mention they
now have 4 dancers? a little distracting...2 is ok) and then realized that
"Invisble Man" didn't tape right so they had to redo it. The guys were
hilarious entertaining us in between songs, just ad libs. Drew of course was the
funniest, getting his groove on and spinning around on his barstool type chair.
Jeff offered to tell jokes and they said NO and Nick offered to tap dance and
they said NO even more strongly. After they redid that they did another new one,
"My Everything" which Nick and Justin co-wrote. That one was really
really beautiful because the dancers (first) and then a group of school kids,
came out and signed (as in ASL) along with the words. I thought that was really
cool. After that they did "Una Noche" which was awesome with they pyro
(they had great pyro on the first song too) and then came out to end with
"Because of You" LOL It was funny, I don't know if they'll show it or
not, but Nick slipped and almost fell (ok it wasn't THAT funny) during BOY. He
caught himself and laughed. And, that was the end!
It was hell, waiting and everything, but it was worth it in the end! The guys
have kinda funky outfits...Nick was wearing some JC snakeskin red leather pants
in the beginning...at the end before BOY Jeff was lagging doing something and
girls were yelling "Take it off!" to Nick, so he's like "what, my
shoe?" and took it off and Drew and Justin were like "you should NEVER
make him do that!" and Drew's like passing out...so Jeff comes out faking
unbuttoning his shirt and Nick starts gagging while Drew's making stripper music
