of True Obsession
My
explanations
1) You have
bought more than three of their full-length cds. I have bought 4 copies of
98 Degrees and Rising, 4 if you count the one I bought
for my friend. I also have 3 copies of the self titled album, but have bought 5
or more. And I have one copy of This Christmas.
Plus I have tons of other 98º cds bringing my total up to 20+
including singles and such.
2) You have an
actual scrap book devoted to 98 Degrees. Yes... it is over 350 pages front and back, I look through it nearly every day :)
3) People refer
to you as "that person that's obsessed with 98 Degrees"
or something along those lines. Real creative some people are... My
friends call me "98º freak" and just say I'm way
beyond obsessed, but it's cool I don't mind!!
4) You spend
over $10 a month on buying magazines for the sole fact that 98
Degrees is in them. I probably spend about $10/month on magazines. I
prefer to get ones w/ lots of 98 Degrees and then trade the rest
of the stuff with people for 98 Degrees in return, it works well.
And I always have to buy the mags with 98 Degrees on the cover!
5) You stayed
home on a Saturday night to watch the Miss America Pageant
because 98 Degrees was in a short (and somewhat lame) video at
the end. Ok
now who was upset about this besides me?!? Of course I didn't
mind staying "home" to watch 98 Degrees, but it did
piss me off when they said at each commercial break, "coming
up next... 98 Degrees," and then they wouldn't show them! 98
Degrees was at the verrry end and they didn't even sing live!
6) Your room has
over 5 posters of the guys on the walls. I have about 20 total in my room which
is half a dorm room.
7) You go crazy
when you find out they will be in town next week and you have the
chance of seeing them. I literally jumped out of my seat with joy when I
found out Nick and Jessica would be singing 50 miles from my home
during my spring break. This was special for me because it was
perfect timing! If my spring break had been another time, I would
have missed them. I was ecstatic when I found out I'd be home for
that one!
8) You decorate
your car (or parents' car) with all sorts of stuff so that people
will know you love 98 Degrees. haha yeah my car has a homemade 98º
bumper sticker in the rear window that simply says "I <3
98º" and I also have a little thing that says "98º Rocks my
World!"
9) You have
converted 1 or more friends to 98 Degrees fans. My best friend, Ruby, is
now a 98º FANatic thanks to me :) And several of my other
friends have become fans because of me too.
10) You
convinced your parents to sing happy birthday with you to one of
the guys on their birthday. On August 8, 1999 I was camping with my family and
I got my Mom and Dad to sing a round of "Happy Birthday to
Drew" with me, it was awesome! :)
11) You check
the mail every single day hoping the official fan club newsletter
has arrived! The
darn thing never comes! Anyone else ever notice that?!?
12) You have
dumped a boyfriend/girlfriend or two because they could not deal
with your love of 98 Degrees. Guys are such dicks, why don't they get
it?!? The fact the I love 98 Degrees does not mean I can't love
them. Are they just jealous 98º gets so much attention from me?
UGH I hate it! Oh well, those guys were evil anyway I'm happy I
dumped them and got them out of my life!
13) You
religiously visit the Official 98 Degrees Website every day to
check for updates (which are rare). Why can't they update more?!? I swear, my
website is more accurate and up-to-date than the Official one and
it's beginning to bug me!
14) You have
spontaneously baked for the guys, knowing that they wouldn't even
be able to eat the bounty of your hard work. Ruby and I felt like
doing something fun one day so we bought a bunch of cake mix and
decided to make our creations in the name of 98 Degrees. So we
made these awesome little (and big) cakes and decorated them with
98 Degrees in mind, they were quite tasty!
15) You have
chased their tour bus/limo/van/car down the street, not even sure
if they're actually in it. Admit it, you've done this! I have chased 3 of
their tour buses - not sure if they were in there, and one of the
limos - knowing that they were in fact in there. I would've
chased their van but I was "hella" tired that day cause
I had no sleep and I didn't wanna bother the guys.
16) You have
been to so many of their concerts that you know their
choreography better than they do! I luv their choreography, it's so cute!
They aren't the greatest dancers but they try and their shows are
amazing. These new dancers are pissing me off though :( PLEASE LOSE
THE DANCERS!
17) You can
identify their songs in a single note. yup try and stump me, it
can't be done! If I hear a song of theirs playing, I stop dead in
my tracks and immediately identify it then try to find the
nearest speaker!
18) You still go
crazy when you hear "The Hardest Thing" come on the
radio, even though you could just put on your cd and listen to it
any time you want! I do this with any of the guys' songs. I can't
help but smile and let out a little scream of delight when their
songs come on, I simply love it. That is heaven to me!
19) You
countdown for months before the guys' birthdays. don't you?!!?
20) You swear you heard someone
mention 98 Degrees when the answer in math class was in the 90's. Ok yeah I
need to start paying more attention during class and not have my
head in the clouds! I've always got 98º on the brain lol
21) They just make you smile :)
they simply make me smile
:) ahh :) :) :) Whenever I see a picture of 98 Degrees, I see
their adorable personalities shining through in the faces or
gestures they make, and it just makes me smile, they're all so
cute and I luv it :)
22) You move the cds around in
the music store so that it looks like there's millions of 98
Degrees cds. Everytime
I go into a cd isle or cd store, I have to spread all the 98º
cds around to cover up other artists so people see 98 Degrees all
over the place. I am sure this sucks for the people that work
there, and I'm sorry!!! I just can't stop myself :)
23) You bought 4 or more boxes
of frosted Cheerios for the 98 Degrees promo. Yup yup and I would've
bought more if the offer didn't expire so soon, I ran outta money
before I could buy more! Come to think of it, I still have a
little bit of those Cherrios left, they're sitting on my shelf
just waiting to be eaten!
24) You can't listen to any
other Christmas cds because they all sound horrible compared to
98 Degrees.
Anyone else have this experience? My [old] roommate doesn't like 98º
but she loves their Christmas album, and now neither of us can
listen to other Christmas albums because they sound horrible! Not
gonna say which one in particular makes us sick to our stomachs
when we hear it, but it does happen.
25) The bulk of your video
collection is homemade tapings of 98 Degrees on television. I have approx 40 hrs of
98 Degrees footage!!
26) You never go a day without
hearing a 98 Degrees song. I need my fix of 98 Degrees and listen to their
albums usually once a day. I always have music on.
27) You get your pictures back
from a concert and the only blurry ones are the 98 Degrees ones
because you were so excited that you couldn't hold the camera
steady! Ugh
I was so upset I almost cried. The only pictures that were blurry
from Summer Music Mania were the 98 Degrees ones :( I got like 1
picture that is in focus and it is Jeff lookin oh so fine (he
can't look anything but oh so fine). My pics from the Here On
Earth premiere turned out though!
28) You defend the guys whenever
people say ignorant and mean things about them. This totally bugs me. I
don't care if you don't' like 98 Degrees, that is an opinion and
I'm fine with that. But it you for example call them gay, I have
a HUGE problem with that. One of my ex's did this and that's why
he now is an ex. I know 98 Degrees better than the average Joe
and am not ignorant so don't you go be ignorant and judge people
that you haven't even taken time to get to know better. UGH how
annoying!
29) You miss school/work in
order to see the guys at an event such as a parade. I just had to see the
guys at the Hollywood Christmas parade and was forced to miss a
day of class. It was a personal sacrifice that I'm very thankful
my parents finally said I could make!
30) You lose your voice after a
concert/appearance. Ruby lost her voice after like every event we've
gone to. I only lost mine once I think. I try not to scream but I
can't help myself, it is fun.
31) The guys know your name (or
did at one time...!) Thank you Justin, you rock. 'Nuf said.
32) You know more about them than they themselves know.
Sickening but most likely this is true, though they
know lots about themselves that I do not know... well you know
what I mean!
33) While doodling in class, you
realize that you've covered an entire sheet with "98º"
and didn't even know it at the time!! Well, all my papers are
covered with 98º doodles, must be that I find 98º more
interesting than my teachers.
34) eBay is the main collector
of your money. I just can't stop myself. Some of those things, I
just HAVE to have them! I've spent hundreds.... and there's no
end in sight.
35) Your magazines are all
chopped up from trading pics of other people for yet more 98
Degrees! The
only whole magazine I own is the one with Jessica and Nick on the
cover because I had 3 copies of it!
36) Your desktop on your
computer sings 98 Degrees songs to you when you minimize windows. It's sooo
cool! My roommate probably hates it but oh well, I luv it! What
is better than having 98 Degrees sing to you when you click the
mouse!?!
37) You love all the
guys equally because they are all awesome in their own ways. They're ALL soooo great,
how could you not love them all?!? Their personalities are so
different and they're so adorable!
38) Even if you're late, if 98
Degrees is on the radio, you sit in the car and wait for the song
to end. I
can't help it, I need to hear the whole song, or watch the whole
video... it's just wrong to chop it up! Isn't it annoying how
radio stations cut the ends off songs?!?
39) You don't refer to one/all
of the guys as "mine" and you don't want to marry them
because you know it is just unrealistic... though it is fun to
dream..... :)
Contrary to my friends' beliefs, I do not have sexual fantasies
about 98 Degrees, that's just sick! I think of them more as
brothers, councilors and good friends :)
40) Even your printer has 98
Degrees on it! Mine has a bumper sticker on it :)
41) At Christmas/other major
holiday, your relatives bought you 98 Degrees because they know
you love them, but all you got was doubles of stuff you already
had, and you were perfectly happy with that!
42) You memorized every line to
"Heat It Up" Official Video. That's what
happens when you watch it at least three times a week, and have both a VHS and
VCD copy of it!
43) You will buy anything
that has to do with 98 Degrees. Just look at my collection of
memorabilia, it's scary!
44) You have over 2 books on 98
Degrees, excluding the Official Book. I only have 5; 2 copies
of Backstage Pass - they were gifts, thanks! :) And The Official
Book, the big hardback 98º book, and the Unofficial Book. Plus I do have the Heat It Up Tour
Book and three magazines devoted to 98 Degrees.
45) Risking arrest to meet the
guys is not beyond contemplation. On my 98 Degrees escapades I've come real
close to being arrested, but sshhh don't tell anyone!
46) You carry around little
pictures of 98º in your wallet so they're with you wherever you
go. Self explanatory, they're just so cute!
47) You know where they live
(specific address, not just city). Umm yeah, I won't stalk them crazy
though, I am just gonna send them birthday cards :) It really
isn't that hard to find!
48) You have a website devoted
to 98º. You're
lookin' at it:

49) You stay home from work or
school to watch 98º on tv.
50) You can't stop yourself from
checking the online auctions every single day for new 98º
products.
51) Christmas music is playing
during April. I love their Christmas CD and it would be a waste
if I didn't get the most use out of it as possible!
52) You have articles about 98
Degrees that are in another language. I have two in some
different languages, I don't even know what they say but it is
pretty cool :)
53) Your parents send you
newspaper clippings about 98 Degrees (or one guy, or a movie the
guys are on the soundtrack of!) Hehe it was cool, my parents sent me a
picture of Nick and a little clip from the newspaper about the
new cd the guys are recording. And they sent me a movie review of
Here On Earth.
54) You watch their videos just
about once every day. I simply can't go a single day without watching
their videos on my computer! I watch all five I have over and
over and over, it's fun :)
55) Your friends just think
you're crazy, and they've stopped asking why. But of course they
still love you :)
56) You have 4 copies of Revelation.
1 from Wal-Mart, KMart, and Target. I have another
promo copy which doesn't have any bonus tracks and I got that on the 23rd of
September! Plus I am getting the Hong Kong release from a friend to make

57) You stop at the
Golden Gate Bridge, play "Because of You" while driving on it,
and wear 98º stuff on purpose while stopped there! The
pictures says it all!
58) You get your
friends to put on 98º tattoos even though they don't really like 98
Degrees
59) Because you believe
that the world would be a better place if everyone owned a copy of Revelation,
you buy numerous copies for friends that wouldn't otherwise buy it. Yeah,
well, someone has to save the world somehow!
60) You make your own
awesome 98 Degrees t-shirts for concerts. My t-shirts are very cute :)
I love getting creative!
61) You make your family play the 98º
Play for Keeps Game and feel so smart when you beat them! Ok well I didn't
make my family play, but I tried... they all refused :(
62) You keep all the prizes in the board
game for yourself! Hehehehe... of course
63) You bought 4 of those little die cast
cars - one of each to play with and one to keep in the package. Well no...
I just bought 2 and kept them both in the package!
64) You have all 4 of those bears.
Actually I have 5, gonna give my extra Drew bear to my friend :)
65) You even have the red celebrity bear
with the thermometer and blue cap! Yep... hey it was only $2.50 on eBay,
that's quite a deal!
66) You have multiple copies of The
Collection. Okay, I only have one copy, sue me!
67) You bought a lifetime supply of
Valentine's Day cards. Well, I have 18 boxes, is that a lifetime supply?!
68) You cannot go a day without seeing
what is going on at the Official MB. ..... gotta see what my friends are
up to!
69) 98º is not only your desktop
background and winamp skin, but also they are icons and sounds on your computer.
70) You have 1000s of pictures of 98º
collected from the internet saved on your computer. must have precious
pictures - mostly mine are for my website though :)
71) You have videos of performances
they've done in other countries. I LOVE the Taiwan promo video... My
friend, Gina, from HK is in it! It is so cool!
72) You get backstage passes to meet the
guys, and practically hyperventilate before they are even in sight. Okay
so I finally met Jeff Timmons. That day I was so excited, I couldn't think
straight. The passes were for after the show, and when Jeff first came on
to perform, I practically passed out. I was so happy!
73) You record the audio at their
concerts. Just so I can remember the evening :) |
