After seven weeks, we will finally find out who gets the gold on
"Dancing with the Stars" – Jerry, Stacy or Drew.
But did Drew's bad judgement
during the finals overshadow his performance?
"It just kind of happened
spontaneously," Drew explained. "If I had to do it over again, I might not have
done it but you know!"
A regretful Drew Lachey caused a
controversy with his response to Judge Bruno Tonioli's remarks.
Bruno told Drew after his
freestyle dance that the 98 Degrees star was "ready for the lead in 'Brokeback
Mountain: The Musical!'"
Drew took the hat off dance
partner Cheryl Burke's head and put it behind him.
"It was there," Drew said. "What
else can I grab? She is not wearing anything else! I guess ABC, and their parent
companies, don't find my humor as humorous as I do, so, maybe I need a cable
show, not network!"
While Drew's response aired live
on the East Coast, it was edited out on the West Coast.
Controversy notwithstanding, Drew
and Cheryl scored perfect 10's on both of their dances.
Drew's brother, Nick, cheered him
on, while fan fave Jerry Rice and his partner, Anna Trebunskaya, had their best
night when it counted the most.
"I know all my fellow teammates
are saying, 'What is going on with Jerry right now?'" Jerry laughed.
"At least it wasn't any comment
about 'Brokeback Mountain: The Musical,'" Anna said.
"Oh, I agree with you," Jerry
laughed.
"I wasn't really that
disappointed because I felt that we did a good job," Stacy Keibler told us.
But the judges said otherwise.
Stacy's freestyle dance was not a
hit.
"I was expecting so much more,"
said Judge Len Goodman on the show.
Stacy's score showed it – only 26
out of 30.
But with her long legs and her
"desk move," Stacy did score a 30 with her jive dance.
Even performing with a foot
injury, Stacy is still unstoppable.
"I don't think anything is going
to stop this girl from dancing Sunday," said Tony Dovolani, Stacy’s professional
dance partner.
"No, no way, that is not even a question," Stacy said. "If my foot wasn’t
on my leg, I would find a way to dance."
